Annual Visionary Gala

About
The Visionary Gala is Triangle Community Center’s annual fundraising gala. At the beginning of my tenure, the event raised $75,000 By my final year there, it brought in over $375,000
Growing Revenue
I diversified revenue streams by developing sponsorship relationships with area businesses, growing the number of donors in our database, and growing annual contributions from medium to high capacity donors.
Data & Messaging
I worked on segmenting donors by giving capacity and behavioral characteristics, tailoring communications and the event to their tastes. I also ensured the event followed a strict communications rollout schedule.
Event Production
I worked with vendors, banqueting teams, decorative, and all contractors to plan and execute the event, negotiating with vendors for best prices, and leading a team of staff and volunteers leading up to and during the event.
relationship management
I ensured TCC and its donors ensured excellent relationships, providing VIP experiences for top-dollar donors, and working with sponsoring businesses to provide the perks they wanted with their packages.
Research
I took a deep dive into what made our revenue grow at each annual event; monitoring what inspired donors and businesses to give, and other variables such as the most lucrative auction items and click-through & open rates on emails.



Case Study:
Transgender Global Day of Visibility
Around the world, transgender and gender non-conforming people face great barriers to employment. As Co-Chair of Indeed’s BRG supporting the LGBTQIA+ community in the Americas, I created a groundbreaking global program to help support those communities in their job search efforts. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders within Indeed and with outside partners, this program was designed to help train people to expertly use Indeed tools for their job search. In additional to virtual programming, it featured key in-person events in London, New York City, Austin, alongside culturally competent education in APAC.

Business Case
Market research clearly showed a need to support trans job seekers. I crafted a business case, creating a global event to help address this. Leading a global team, we prioritized markets where we could be successful and tools that would help, including a specialized training.

Getting Word Out
The program had two audiences: Indeed staff and external guests. Both audiences were targeted tailored messaging across appropriate channels. Our communications strategy ensured optimal participation and clearly articulated our programming and its goals.

Launching
Launch dates included a global virtual panel, which saw significant Indeed staff participation, staff training deadlines, and of course our in-person events in London, New York, Austin, as well as APAC’s specialized education campaign. Afterwords, we collected participant feedback for future improvement.
