Case Study:
Transgender Global Day of Visibility

Around the world, transgender and gender non-conforming people face great barriers to employment. As Co-Chair of Indeed’s BRG supporting the LGBTQIA+ community in the Americas, I created a groundbreaking global program to help support those communities in their job search efforts. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders within Indeed and with outside partners, this program was designed to help train people to expertly use Indeed tools for their job search. In additional to virtual programming, it featured key in-person events in London, New York City, Austin, alongside culturally competent education in APAC.

Business Case

Market research clearly showed a need to support trans job seekers. I crafted a business case, creating a global event to help address this. Leading a global team, we prioritized markets where we could be successful and tools that would help, including a specialized training.

Getting Word Out

The program had two audiences: Indeed staff and external guests. Both audiences were targeted tailored messaging across appropriate channels. Our communications strategy ensured optimal participation and clearly articulated our programming and its goals.

Launching

Launch dates included a global virtual panel, which saw significant Indeed staff participation, staff training deadlines, and of course our in-person events in London, New York, Austin, as well as APAC’s specialized education campaign. Afterwords, we collected participant feedback for future improvement.
